Qualifications and requirements

Strong Python application development experience.

Strong React experience and ability to work within an existing React front end.

Experience integrating Python services/algorithms into React-based applications, including APIs and backend/frontend integration.

Comfortable working in and modifying an existing application rather than building a new application from scratch.

Experience working with Azure DevOps repositories and development environments, since the existing application/repository is hosted there.

Comfortable troubleshooting integration across an existing production system.

Job functions

Work within and modify an existing application rather than building a new application from scratch.

Support future development and enhancements of the existing application.

Work within an existing React front end.

Integrate Python services and algorithms into React-based applications, including APIs and backend/frontend integration.

Work with existing manual scheduling and drag-and-drop capabilities within the application.

Troubleshoot integration across an existing production system.

Work within the existing application and repository hosted in Azure DevOps.

Support QA testing as part of the development effort.

Desirable skills

Capable of supporting functional/integration testing and the QA cycle rather than requiring a dedicated QA resource initially.

The application supports a manufacturing process where the sales team gathers orders from customers. The customer provides the metal and the paint, sometimes on short notice. The application supports the production process by helping minimize transition time during the paint line operation.

Paint changes can require approximately 20 minutes, so the tool helps maximize throughput by grouping paints by color, grouping steel dimensions, and minimizing downtime on the line.
