The Role

The Senior Mainframe Adabas Support Specialist is accountable for the management, support, installation and optimization of large-scale Adabas database environments running on IBM z/OS . This individual is responsible for maintaining and installing Software Ag mainframe products , ensuring the reliability and performance of critical production systems.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 8 years of experience supporting IBM Mainframe environments and hands-on experience administering Software AG Adabas databases.

Strong experience with IBM z/OS operating systems and related system utilities.

Experience with Adabas database administration, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and capacity management.

Knowledge of Natural, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, RACF, and mainframe operational processes.

Experience troubleshooting complex production issues in high-availability environments.

Strong understanding of incident, problem, change, and service management practices.

Experience supporting mission-critical environments with strict SLA commitments.

Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with global teams.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with Entire System Server, Predict, Entire Net-Work, Com-Plete, or other Software AG products.

Knowledge of IBM Db2, IMS, CICS, MQ, and other z/OS subsystems.

Experience with automation technologies, scripting, and operational tooling.

Familiarity with enterprise monitoring platforms such as OMEGAMON, BMC MainView, Broadcom, Dynatrace, or equivalent.

Experience supporting global clients in managed infrastructure or outsourcing environments.

Exposure to cloud integration, hybrid infrastructure, or modernization initiatives involving mainframe platforms.

ITIL Foundation Certification or equivalent service management certification.
